Reg 2016 HDTV x264-RBB

Drama by Jimmy McGovern based on the true story of Reg Keys, the father of a royal military policeman, who took on the British prime minister over Britain’s participation in the Iraq War. When Reg and his wife Sally return home to discover that their son, Lance Corporal Tom Keys, has been killed four days short of his 21st birthday in the volatile Shia city of al Majarr al Kabir, they are plunged into grief and despair. Learning that the army had ordered a scale-down in weapons and comms three weeks prior to Lance’s death, and angered by his belief that the war with Iraq was based on a lie, Reg forms a pressure group called Families Against the War. Certain that his son died as part of an army blunder, Reg tries several times to talk to Tony Blair, to no avail. He then makes a radical decision: to stand for election against Tony Blair in his home constituency of Sedgefield. As the campaign takes up more of Reg’s time, Sally continues to struggle with her grief at home. When election night draws in, and the world’s press gathers in Sedgefield, tensions run high as the final count begins to emerge.

  1. Janna,
Don’t know if you will see this, but I am so sorry for what I read on the front page. What you and Hector and others have given to us for years in different iterations has been an amazing gift to us.

I wish you had never added a shoutbox as that has been the downfall of several sites, such as old oneddl, as the spoiled children will always whine, it seems, when the gifts they are given – without cost – don’t meet with their delusional importance and insane demands for acquiescence to their childish tantrums.

From the bottom of an old man’s heart for what your passion has introduced to me over the years – such as U and Aus news satire shows…thank you.

    Trellian, ne Califrag

  2. Dear Janna,

Thank you for having this site and the shows! Also, thanks for the link on the viewing vault! You’re awesome! <3

  3. Please let me chime in, in appreciation for all the terrific work that you and others have done over several years (at least). In its several iterations, this has been one of 3 or so top go-to sites for me, and it will be sorely, sorely missed. I never paid much attention to shoutbox, and was not aware that there was a substantial contingent of whiners. Which of course is sad and odd and unexpected – even in an internet era where trolls have propagated so disproportionately to what reason and simple, common courtesy would have predicted.

Thanks for putting up with the bs for as long as you have, and please believe that there are many of us who realize and appreciate how much you’ve done and how greatly we are in your debt.

  4. I would like to echo the sentiments expressed by Sesitos, Trellian and Chickylala. As much as I am saddened by your decision I can fully understand the reasons behind it. Unfortunatey there are idiots out there who seem to delight in making life unpleasant for the majority. I wish you well in all your future endeavours

  5. Janna,I’ve been following you from site to site too. When I read Azimuth had gone, I was left feeling very sorry for myself. I’d never watched subtitled TV before and it opened up a world of viewing pleasure that I’d never have found if it wasn’t for you.

Todays news though, really shook my world.
I’ve never met you, never spoken to you, but love you for what you’ve given me.

Really sorry that people found it necessary to make your life difficult when you were making ours so much better.

  6. Hi Janna,
Let me second the very true thanks and praise for all your and other contributors. We really are so very thankful all the time and energy.

    All the best to you.
