Some Information on ‘Forthcoming’ Foreign Drama
In the latest Radio Times (BBC Listings Magazine) there is a feature on forthcoming Nordic tinged things. I have scanned the page for anyone who might be interested. They list twelve items. Below are my comments on each one and then some other information.
01) Could be good. The title the article shows is a working title only. The real name of Bedraget (Deceived) is what the show will go out under in Denmark in January. As with 05 below, could be tempted to do it.
02) Old Hat
03 Cinema release but the subject matter has been done to death already.
04) Old Hat.
05) Could be good. Icelandic title is Ófærð and will be shown there just after Christmas. Could be tempted to do it.
06) Definitely one for me. Barbara Flynn is always good.
07) Old Hat. Vampire crap for kids which I ignored.
08) Who cares?
09) The worst of all the remakes. Can’t believe this will be anything other than more rubbish.
10) I have posted previous episodes and even have most of them on original DVDs but had its day.
11) Taffy Telly with Nordic pretensions and nothing else. I watched one episode, posted one series and then gave up.
12) Apart from Jordskott, the worst Nordic we ever posted.

I have to agree with Andywiz’ assessment of Jordskott. I wish I knew how bad it was before I started watching it.

Thanks for the RT article. I thought “Hinterland” was very good (and the filming, twice, in two languages very interesting)! “Fortitude” was horrible. “The Tunnel” – not as bad as the US version of “The Bridge”, but that’s no recommendation. De gustibus non est disputandum, of course……
Completely disagree on The Legacy. Brilliant show, perfect writing…yep it aint noir, it’s better.
For me, Bedrag and Deutschland 83 will do.
